We built Patrimony because we faced an uncomfortable truth: the people who matter most to us — our spouses, children, parents, siblings — have no way to reach our bank accounts, insurance policies, or digital accounts if something happens to us.
Traditional solutions ask you to trust a third-party company with your passwords, your files, and your financial records. We refused to build that product.
Patrimony takes a different approach. Your vault is organized inside your own Google Drive. We orchestrate the timing and access routing. We do not store copies of your vault records.
Built for Your Privacy
We never save copies of your records on our computers. Your sensitive data stays safely hidden in your personal Google Drive. We only keep track of your basic timer settings so we know when to check in on you.
Standard Files, Always Yours
Your records are saved as standard spreadsheets inside your Google Drive. Even if our company shuts down tomorrow, your files are completely safe and readable. You never lose access to your own information.
Fully Automatic Safety Timer
We simply run a safety timer in the background. If you don't check in within your chosen time limit, the system automatically sends a secure link to your trusted people. It's completely hands-off and automatic.
The Problem with Traditional Digital Vaults
The standard approach to "digital vaults" requires you to trust a company with your raw data — uploading your files, credentials, and financial records to their cloud servers. This creates a high-value target for attackers and a dependency on that company's survival.
Patrimony resolves this by using your existing Google Drive account as the storage layer. When you sign in, we create a hidden, isolated application folder inside your Drive. You own that folder. It is protected by Google's infrastructure. We organize its contents and manage who gets access — and when.
This means your files do not disappear if Patrimony shuts down. They are in your Drive.
Why Google Drive?
Google Drive is one of the world's most widely used cloud storage platforms. It is encrypted in transit and at rest, protected by Google's security infrastructure, and accessible from any device globally.
By building on top of Google, we inherit world-class storage reliability without asking you to trust a smaller, newer, unproven storage system.
More importantly: you keep the data. If you close your Patrimony account, your Drive folder and all its contents remain in your Google account.
What We Are — And What We Are Not
Patrimony is a software tool for organizing and routing access to your estate records. We are not:
- A law firm or legal advisor
- A financial institution or fiduciary
- An estate executor or trustee
- A replacement for a Will or Power of Attorney
We are a scheduling and access-management layer built on top of Google's infrastructure. The legal transfer of your assets upon death is governed by the laws of your jurisdiction. Please consult a qualified legal professional to coordinate your digital planning with proper legal instruments.
Our Commitment
We have no advertising model. We do not sell your data. We do not store copies of your vault records. Our only interest is in building a service you genuinely trust with something important.
Privacy is not a feature here. It is the design constraint that everything else is built around.
